Reminder: we are just people who care
These pages are more than aid stories; they're windows into our lives where you'll meet the people we humbly serve, fight for, and who inspire us every day. We're a grassroots movement, a family of heart-orientated individuals united by a simple goal: making a positive difference together through kindness, unity, and love, which is the foundation of all we do.

Animals
1st aid
Rescue & shelters
We opened our doors in 2017 to give lost and hurt animals a safe place to heal. We don't just patch them up, though - sometimes, we provide loving care until their very end. It all started with helping injured strays, but we soon saw the need to do more. That's why we also offer food to families struggling to make ends meet. Our team is incredible - a bunch of passionate volunteers working alongside two amazing vets who give the animals the best medical care possible. We work together to find animals in need, bring them to safety, and make sure they have everything they need to feel better.
A soul is a soul
Here in the Middle East, people don't always show the same love for animals, but it didn't matter. We knew a life was a life. Back then, we were lost, but slowly, a group of us came together. Step by step, we found strength in each other to make a difference, to do whatever we could to save the animals, to be there for them in their final moments. It's tough, because most of the time, we're providing "end-of-life" care for these injured creatures. But we give it our all.
Caring for end of life
We are teaching palliative care, that special kind of care that helps animals feel better even when they're really sick. It's about understanding the circle of life, and that sometimes the kindest thing we can do is make sure an animal is comfortable in their last days. Our main goal is still giving comfort and support to animals who are very sick and can't be cured. We're always learning new ways to do this, figuring out what works best for each animal. In the end, we just want to make their lives better, even if they can't stay with us forever.
Teaching to love & to connect
"The greatest legacy we can leave our children is healthy earth, and a sense of wonder about other living things."
Our animal rescue efforts blossomed alson into an emotional program for children. Recognizing that the concept of human-animal connection might differ in Syria compared to Europe, we prioritized fostering empathy and emotional expression through animal interaction. These activities provided a safe space for children to show tenderness, share their feelings, and ultimately be a piece of the many they need to heal. We are trying to explore a similar action for elderly people in 2024.

The war shattered everything. It wasn't just the loss of loved ones, the constant dread, or the explosions that still echo in your ears. It was the animals too. I can't shake the image of a dog set ablaze by a rocket, or a cat shredded by shrapnel. Here in the Middle East, people don't always show the same love for animals, but it didn't matter. It all started trying to rescue people
The war shattered everything. It wasn't just the loss of loved ones, the constant dread, or the explosions that still echo in your ears. It was the animals too. I can't shake the image of a dog set ablaze by a rocket, or a cat shredded by shrapnel ... and at that time trying to help humans was already hard if not nearly impossible but we felt powerless and we decided to unite to try.
It all started trying to care for people
Aleppo has faced its share of challenges – war, pandemic, sanctions, even earthquakes. But through it all, there's been a constant thread of hope. We started dozens of projects, big and small, to make a difference in people's lives. Most of these activities revolved around bringing people together – kids and families especially. Music filled the air, laughter echoed from games, and movies transported us to different worlds. Even during the war's darkest days, we found ways to offer psychosocial support, organize visits, and create summer camps. It wasn't always easy, but seeing the smiles on people's faces made it all worth it. These projects were more than just activities; they were a beacon of hope, a reminder that even in the toughest times, the human spirit can endure.
For a sense of reality
As hard as it is, this is the hard reality of war and need to be felt. I saw this dog running in fire and injured, he escaped between buildings and I found him back a few months later after the liberation. They asked nothing but are still the 1st on the front lines were they try to escape and hide.

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."
"Animals are the only creatures on Earth that don't ask for anything, they don't expect anything, and they give you unconditional love. You can buy their food, their shelter, and their veterinary care, but you can't buy their love. And that's the most precious thing in the world." Brigitte Bardot.
